Excursions in Romagna

24 May 2022

Romagna is the ideal place for those who love to organise excursions and day or half-day out-of-town trips. Here are some ideas to enrich your stay at the seaside:

Cesena

Also known by the name of Malatesta CityCesena is rich in monuments that allow visitors to retrace the history experienced by this city. The jewels in the crown of one of the most evocative cities in Romagna are the works and monuments that are the result of the ingenuity, commitment and work of the Malatesta family.

Castrocaro Terme and Terra del Sole

Castrocaro Terme is best known for its thermal baths and for hosting the Young Talent Music Festival. From its past it preserves the medieval villagewhich includes the Church of San Nicolò, the Palazzo dei Capitani and the Palazzo del Bargello.

Also of interest are the Byzantine Baptistery, the Bell Tower and the Fortress. Land of the Sun is worth a visit for its villages, the Piazza d'Armi, the Palazzo Pretorio and the Museum of Man and the Environment.

Ravenna

Ravenna is a city of history, art and culture, which is why it jealously guards the evidence of the important political, commercial and artistic role it played in the succession of different civilisations.

The main feature in Ravenna is theByzantine artwith its museums, its works, its mosaics and its basilicas

Rimini

Rimini is the famous resort on the Riviera Romagnola known for its beaches, clubs and entertainment. Yet Rimini has an interesting historic centre with important treasures from Roman timessuch as the Tiberius Bridge or the Arch of Augustus.

San Marino

San Marino is the oldest republic in Europe containing a historical, architectural, political and natural heritage of inestimable value.

Legend has it that Marino, an expert stone worker, climbed Mount Titano and founded a small community of Christians persecuted for their faith there during the Diocletian Empire. The Republic of San Marino is an extraordinary example of independence, freedom and strong international activity.

San Leo and Gradara

Only 32 km from the city of Rimini, San Leo is worth a visit for its imposing fortress and its majestic architectural works.

A few kilometres away is Gradara with its medieval history, castle, fortress and typical village.
