Discover the charm of Cesenatico
24 May 2022
Cesenatico is a seaside resort in the heart of Romagna. Its origins date back to 1302 when it was known as the Port of Cesena.
The canal port, which today has become the hub of the city's excellent gastronomy and tourist trade, was rebuilt according to a design by Leonardo da Vinci who planned its division into two parts.
What to visit
Even today, the canal port retains its original characteristics, animated as it was then by fishing boats and characteristic village markets. Worthy of note is undoubtedly the Maritime Museumwhere prototypes of boats from the Middle and Upper Adriatic Sea are on display.
The Onda Marina dock and marina are located on the western side. The port of Cesenatico is also well connected with the Croatia and other nearby art and tourist locations for pleasant day trips.
